I'm new to Adobe and I created a PDF. In Properties, Advanced, under Location I do not want to show the location of the file. How can I delete the location so the reader cannot see it?

Thank you.

What you see in the Location field is the current location of the file you just opened, not where the file originated from. If you were to move the PDF file to a different directory and opened the file again, the location would reflect the new directory it is stored in.

No, there is no way to mask that field. It is not breaching any security by giving away any information as to source of the file.

That is not true. I saved a PDF and the Properties Advanced section shows all of the info. And while Dov Issacs opines that it's not a problem, I think it is. It isn't necessary for recipients of a PDF I send to know this information. To eliminate it I have to save the file in Desktop and then move it where I want to rather than save it in the subfolder I'd like to which means my file structure is displayed in the Advanced section.

You're wrong. It's not saved. You can easily test it for yourself.

Send the file by email, download it on another computer and then check the Location property there.

You'll see it's not the same as on your original machine.
