Issue with random characters showing in the beginning of a word file which has had a PDF created

I created multiple pdf files (36) through adobe from word documents.   4 of these documents when the PDF was created had random characters at the beginning of the document in the PDF format that were not there in the original word document.   Has anyyyyone else had this issue?  If so was there a fix??
