Issues with pdf opening

When I Click on a pdf to open it takes like 2 minutes to open. What can I do to fix this?

Would you mind confirming the exact application used to work and open the PDF file? Also, is this a performance issue with multiple PDF files or a single one? 

You may check the following details and see if that helps:

1- Try opening a different file and see if that helps

2- Check for application update Open Acrobat DC>Help>Check for update

3-  Navigate to Acrobat>Edit>Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected View" and "Enhanced Security">OK>close and reopen Acrobat and check the performance
