Most likely, what appears to be text on the page is really some combination of “outlined text” (i.e., vector artwork) and/or text within raster images such as would be obtained by scanning to a PDF file.

When you click on Edit PDF, are you able drag through the text to highlight it text with the I-Beam cursor?

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

From the description, it seems like you are working with a document which has scanned images.

Have you tried going to Edit-> Scan & OCR-> Recognize text.

Once this is done, try the edit workflow again.
