First, for links it’s important to first note that previewing of files is handled differently in A9 to Acrobat X. Navigator preview, which is the default preview for PDF files in Acrobat X, doesn’t display the links. If you view the file in Platform Preview you can click on links, but you have to explicitly choose that  preview in Acrobat X for Acrobat X portfolios (some A9 portfolios when viewed in Acrobat X will display in Platform Preview by default)

To create a link in Acrobat X

  1. Create a portfolio, add files
  2. Select the pdf you want to create the link in
  3. Right click and select Open File (to open in native app, in this case Acro)
  4. Click on tools and expand the content panel
  5. Click on link and set the parameters there
  6. For Link Action, select Go To A Page View
  7. Click Next (this brings up the Create Go To View dialog box – leave it alone for now)
  8. Return focus to the portfolio
  9. In the portfolio, right-click on the PDF you want to link TO and select Open File
  10. Click on the page in the file you want to set the link to
  11. Now, click on the set link button in the Create Go To View dialog box
  12. Save the 1st PDF (where you created the link)
  13. Close the file

So now you have your link. You can either select the file and choose from the menu View > Portfolio > Preview File or right click to open in native
