I am trying to create a hyperlink in a word document that, when clicked, opens a pdf file to a specific page or bookmark. Google searching has indicated that the easiest way to do this is using "destinations" which I access through the "destination pane" - but I can't seem to find this feature anywhere in Acrobat 2017. Does this version of the program support desinations? Is there an easier way to create links that do what I want?

Yes, Acrobat Pro 2017 supports Named Destinations. To view this panel right-click the left hand panel and toggle the "Destinations" option in the pop-up menu. It should then look like this:

You can add a new Destination using the button I marked in red in the screenshot above.
