I'm using Acrobat DC to create forms in which my colleagues complete some fields and then forward to clients for completing and signing.
My colleagues have access to Reader only.
Is it possible, e.g. code a button, that would lock the fields my colleagues complete but not lock the remaining fields the clients need to complete?
any suggestions would be appreciated

Use signature fields. In the properties of this fields you can lock fields.

I'm able to create the form using Acrobat DC but need need my colleagues to complete some fields using Reader before sending to a client for signature.
I'm not clear on how to use the field properties to enable some fields to be completed by others and then locked using Reader.

Use one signature field for the colleague and one for the client.

Thanks Bernd
as well as a signature, the colleagues need to select various options from radio buttons and enter some values - it's these fields that I'm wanting to lock. Can I set properties so that once the first signature field is used it locks the other fields (except for the client signature)?

Yes, you can set this in the properties of the signature fields.
