Make ink blacker for digital printing?

Hi,

I've been posting a few questions recently dealing with different issues, thank you for those who have responded; I may have figured out a solution to the other issues.  My last issue is with the printing.  My PDF is in RGB but the proof copies make the black ink look watered-down.  It just doesn't look very good; the black ink isn't crisp or sharp; it comes out looking washed out.  My best guess is that it has to do with the printing quality rather than with something in the PDF.  But is there any way I can make my blacks look better to kind of compensate for the not so good printing quality?  Like somehow make it extra-black or overly black so that it comes out looking like a richer solid black?  I'm just dealing with text, not objects.  Thanks!
