Merge text in Acrobat DC

I have just OCR'd a bank statement and opened it in Acrobat. Every single entry, for instance where there are 5 different entities on a single line of text, is a separately selectable item. Same goes for every single line on the page so I'm presented with hundreds of text boxes. Is there a way to merge them all into a single block of text?

What resolution did you scan at? 72 ppi? 180 ppi? 300? 600?

We do not control this operation. Acrobat decides where the frames go.

A higher quality scan for text on a plain background would help.
