I have seen several posts regarding Minion Pro font not working in Adobe but have not been able to solve my issue.
I have a co-worker using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro that used the Add Text feature to add comments to a document. The font defaulted to Minion Pro.
When I open the document using XI Pro, the text boxes are just a bunch of
I do have Minion Pro downloaded on my computer. I can add text boxes issuing the font with no issue. How can I make Adobe recognize the font used in these text boxes?

I tried reproducing the issue on my end but it seems to be working fine. So it could be a file specific or machine specific issue.
Please confirm if is it happening on multiple or all files?
Also if you can check and confirm, once you add text using your Acrobat DC and minion pro on the same file and send it across for someone else to open it, is the text intact or still corrupted?

I just had this very same issue recently. I was doing my sixth lab report using Minion Pro in Acrobat Pro DC just as I did the first five of them and everything was okay. I saved my work thinking of printing it later and when I opened the file a couple of hours later, it was filled with
