Not able to edit after working on document

I have Acrbat Pro DC.  Recently, I've opened a document, worked on it, saved it.  When I open to continue working on it I'm asked for a password.  I never used a password and have only had this problem until recently.

What is going on and how do I correct this problem?  I'm not concerned about security at this point.

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, After saving documents with some edits you are getting the password prompt to open the PDF again.

- Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDF that you edit? Please try with a different PDF file and check. Also, please share the screenshot of the error message you get asking for the password when you open the PDF.

- What are the steps you did to edit and save the PDF file?

- Is the PDF file stored on your computer locally or is it stored on a shared network/drive?

- Have you digitally signed the pdf and saved it? If yes, PDF gets locked for further changes once they are signed.

Please check the document restriction summary and check for any restriction applied. Open the PDF > File > Properties > Under security tab, check the restrictions.
