Hi,
Am working in a Govt agency, Singapore. Here Govt implemented few rules and internet separated from Work Network. In my agency, Adobe Acrobat Reader MUI 2017 is the only pdf supporting application which has been whitelisted. One of my users received an email from outside organization with a word document in the attachment. That Word 2016 has an embedded pdf file as object. But the issue is its a Foxit pdf. Couldn't open or convert to Adobe Reader to read the content.
Need advice to sort out this issue. Any idea to open or convert the pdf automatically while opening the document. Please find the error screenshots in the attachment. Thank you
Regards,
Leena

If someone has embedded a live object in a PDF you need the same app. Attachments should be ok.

In theory, shouldn't any PDF made to the PDF standards (ISO 32000) be viewable in any brand of PDF reader or PDF creation software?
PDF has been an open standard for 10+ years and FoxIt and other companies make software for reading, processing, and creating PDF files.
Per the standard, the end user shouldn't have to have FoxIt's brand of software to open, read, and process any PDF file.
Neither should the user have to convert an existing PDF to work with Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat (which are Adobe's brand of software for reading/processing/creating PDFs).
In the meantime, a workaround might be to download FoxIt's free PDF Reader software at https://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf-reader/
