Have a basic question on Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Reader

I have created a PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro and I can see the bookmarks view when I open on my computer.  When I have a user that has Adobe Reader installed, they do not see the default bookmarks view when they open the *.pdf.

How do I accomplish this?

Thanks -

Todd

You can set the initial view of how a PDF opens in Acrobat Std. or Pro. (not Reader). To do this open the PDF file and select File > Properties > Initial View tab and from the Navigation tab dropdown select Bookmarks Panel and Page and then save the PDF.

I'm going to move this discussion to the Acrobat forums since your question relates to this product.

Hi G-W-N,

It sounds like you're still looking at the Thumbnails pane, not the Bookmarks pane.

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

The answer below is actually incorrect. There is no Initial View tab on Acrobat Reader DC. To correctly answer your question, it is not possible at this time
