PDF with multiple pantone inks

Hello, I have a file with CMYK images and nearly 40 odd pantone colours in the file. If i try to open the document in Adobe Acrobat Professional VERSION 2015, it is not opening. If I reduce the number of pantones to single digit the same file is opening. Any insight will be helpful.
