The simple answer is absolutely not. There is no way that Adobe or any other application developer can test their software with every single printer model out there (including printer models going back into the 1990s).

 

That having been said, if a printer, either under Windows or MacOS uses a printer driver that conforms to the operating system specifications for conforming printer drivers, you will generally find that the vast majority of printers (and their drivers) are fully compatible with

The simple answer is absolutely not. There is no way that Adobe or any other application developer can test their software with every single printer model out there (including printer models going back into the 1990s).

 

That having been said, if a printer, either under Windows or MacOS uses a printer driver that conforms to the operating system specifications for conforming printer drivers, you will generally find that the vast majority of printers (and their drivers) are fully compatible with Adobe applications. It is when a printer driver ignores part of the driver specifications and/or tries to second guess the application (and its content) where you can get into trouble.

 

Generally speaking, for desktop and home and office printers, devices with Adobe PostScript 3 support will generally provide the best and most reliable output. If you have a device that fully supports PDF 1.7 and PDF/X-4 (often more expensive / higher end printers), the PDF files generated from Adobe applications can generally simply be sent to these devices for direct printing.
