"Unterminated String" Message when trying to Split Pages

New Here ,

Hello!

I am trying to split a 100 page(or so) document into 100 single page documents.  I have done this many times before but, now when I try it a message saying "Unterminated String" pops up.  Does anyone have an idea of why this might be happening?  I have included a screenshot below.  Thanks!

This is very likely a symptom of a corrupt PDF file. Based on the screen shot, you are running Adobe Acrobat DC, which means that you have access to the Preflight tool. In Preflight, you can run a check for PDF syntax errors, this could conform this suspicion.

I can't even run the preflight check for syntax errors on this document.  Is it possible that it is protected from editing somehow?  Is there any way to fix this issue?

Open up the document properties (Ctrl-D or Cmd-D) and look on the Security tab. Does it list any limitations? Without the document, it's impossible to say what it going on. What happens when you try to run the preflight check?

It does not list any security limitations.  When I try to run the preflight check, the following pops up...Screen Shot 2018-05-31 at 11.24.12 AM.png

This definitely is a corrupt PDF file, there is nothing you can do about it, besides complain to whoever created it.
