Hi,
I had the same problem. Scan a document with my brother MFC-9335CDW using Adobe Acrobat Pro and hand written text would be cut off down the right hand side. I tried moving the page sideways on the glass but to no avail. So, in the Custom Scan window under input I changed the paper size from 210wide to 215wide. This option is only available if you have your scanner option selected to "hide scanners native interface." In Adobe Acrobat, to change this, after selecting custom scan (PC MSoft OS - Hold down Alt button & press FRSS) select the options button next to the scanner drop down window. A scanner Options window will appear, in the Data Transfer Method DDW (drop down window) select Native Mode, In the User Interface DDW select Hide Scanner's Interface, then OK. Now you will see your Width & Height options become available.
After adjusting my page width I hit the scan button & Eureka! It worked!
I hope this works for you...
Kind regards,
Frankie B
PS Cheesed off though that it would do this! Still yet to read a proper explanation from a credible/qualified Tech Rep.
To be fair, same problem occurred with previous printer & with both Acrobat and the Brother software.
If you find an overall cause/solution, please send me a reply.

have you checked with the latest version of Acrobat with the Brother Printer/Scanner? What is the dot version of Acrobat installed? To identify refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC
You can try the troubleshooting steps from the following Adobe article Troubleshooting tips for scanner issues when using Acrobat and see if this brings any difference.
