Save photo from image field in Adobe form

New Here ,

I created a PDF form in Abode Acrobat Pro DC and I added an image field.

When I receive the completed forms, people have added their pictures and I can see them, but I can't seem to find a way to save them. When I right click and copy it, it won't paste the image anywhere. When I left click it just ask me to upload a different image.

Does anyone know how I can save a picture that has been added to an abode form image field?

There's no easy way of doing that. The only one I'm aware of is to flatten the file and then use the Extract Images command.

Images are complicated.  You can save the image by exporting an FDF file. The image will be embedded in the FDF as a JPEG. So you'll need a tool to extract it.

Alternatively, it's much simpler to write a script along the lines of what try67 suggests. Only I'd do it this way.

1. Expand the image(button) field to the natural size of the image.  remove any field borders and make sure the button properties are set so the image is shown properly.

2. Resize the page to fit the button. So now you have an image sized page showing the image.

3. Remove all other pages

4. Save the PDF as an image format.

Instead of an image in a button you can use an image embedded as an attachment, which is easier to extract.

But then it's not visible on the page, which is often a requirement...
