Hi there,
I searched the community but couldn't find a similar topic. Probably something really easy I'm missing.
I have created a document with all the appropriate fields that the client must fill out and sign, and that portion has been tested and is working great. However, when I fill out my fields first (customer info, address, etc), those fields appear blank once I send it to the client. I don't understand how/why this is happening; about 80% of the fields must be filled out by me prior to getting the client to complete it, but if they cannot see what I have written, they can't sign and agree to anything.
Any ideas what I'm missing? I'm using Acrobat Pro DC and it's all up to date as of January 16 2020.
Thanks!

What application is the client using to view the file?

So far I'm just testing it myself, so I'm using the exact same program, same computer to view and sign the documents. The strange thing is, I can fill in all my fields, and even when I click the "send for signatures" button, the preview of the document shows all my fields as blank still, even before I send it.

What does you mean with "preview" ?

When I click "Request Signatures", the first screen asks me who to send it to, then the second screen says "specify where to fill and sign", and shows me the document, allowing me to select which fields the client should sign. On that screen, all the information that I had previously entered is no longer present. It shows me a completely blank form with only the client signature fields highlighted in yellow.

Hi,
What Bernd was asking is if you're using the Adobe Sign Tool in Acrobat.
You posted your question as if you're using Fill & Sign which works differently than Adobe Sign when it is sent out to collect signatures from your recipients.
Please identify which tool are you using.
By the way you've described your workflow it appears that you're using Adobe Sign.

Hey there,
I don't have an option for just "Sign" in the tools on the right-hand side. I only have "Fill and Sign", so that is what I've been using up to this point. Where can I find this "sign" tool?

When you click on the search tools, type in Adobe Sign and the app will be executed.
Or, just look the section that says Forms & Signatures, it should be listed there.

Thanks sir, but when I type in "Adobe Sign" it only brings up "Fill and Sign". Does that mean I'm missing a necessary component, or is Sign part of Fill and Sign?

Which version of AcrobatPro are you using? Are you sure it's Acrobat Pro amd not Reader DC?
Are you using a free trial version or Adobe Reader?

When you click on "Request Signatures" it will be sent to Adobe Sign.

In that case, yes, that is what I've been using. I fill out my fields beforehand, then click "Request Signatures", and once I press that, all my work which I've done is empty.

Okay, I'm thinking it might have something to do with the way I'm preparing the form. If I set a fillable field as "Signer", then they can see the field and fill in the info. But if I set the field to "Sender", then cannot see what I, the sender, have filled in in the field. Does that make sense? But I still want to be the only one who can fill in those fields. How can I fill in a field so that the signer can see what I have entered, but cannot change the information therein?
