I used to use Acrobat Reader to sign my documents. Now I own Acrobat Pro DC and signing is not possible anymore. When I click on the Signature button it just doesn't do anything. Can you help?

Hi Amit,
As described above, Signing is not possible anymore. When clicking on the signature button it just not doing anything. There are a few things you need to check:
1- It could be possible, document security doesn't allow you to sign it. Open PDF>right click (Ctrl+D)> Document properties>Security>Signing
2- To apply signature, which option do you select. Certificate signature or Fill & Sign for simple signing?
3- If you can't sign any PDF, then make sure your application is up-to-date. Reboot the system first then Open Acrobat>help>check for update>close and reopen app.
Let us know if it makes any progress.
Thanks,
Akanchha

Security says Allowed. Also - I can't do it for any documet.
I'm using the "Sign documents by typing or drawing a signature" button:
This button just doesn't do anything. In adobe reader it was working great.
I updated the app and it still doesn't work. Also tried to reinstall.

I tried reinstalling, using acrobat reader again (which did work) and then uninstalling it and going back to pro. Nothing works and I can't even get the signature panel to open, can't draw a new signature, etc.

Finally, the fix is here

As advised by Adobe support, the Acrobat Pro DC 64bit version still required some optimization , so he sent me the link for 32-bit and I tried, it's working perfectly. Link below.

I have the same problem, can someone from Adobe @akanchhas confirm that Praveen is supplying the correct solution? I am hesitant to download an unknown link.

Hello Bro.,. As I mentioned I got it from Adobe support & its works. You can open a case with an Adobe agent and ask for his assistance. Also, you can verify the link using Sandbox or related.

That is a genuine link to download the installer. You can also get the same from Adobe's official page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

But when are you going to solve it? I have the exact same problem - and we are now in July 2023. Nothing happens when I click the icon - tried everything.

Hello, I have the same issue. I purchased the Acrobat Pro 64-bit a short while ago, and my work laptop has been changed quite recently. At first, I had no issues with the new laptop and the Acrobat Pro program as a whole-- Scans and everything else work properly-- but the Sign button is useless. Could you please urgently assist? I have checked for updates, played with identity settings, and deleted some AppData folders as suggested-- nothing seems to do the trick. The latter fix of using the 32-bit version seems a lot of work, to be frank, and not being tech-savvy myself, I don't know if it's safe to uninstall the 64-bit to install the 32-bit just so I can add the signatures to my documents. Will you guys help me out with restoring the previous glory of the attached "Sign" button? 🙂
