I´ve uppgraded from Acrobat IX to 2017 and I'm used to have small symbols on the right screen side with all the tools now there is a wide field with all the tool headlines and symbols that are occupying a big chunk of my screen
Can I customize the toolbar somehow to only small symbols

Hello Akee,
As per the description above, you want to customize the right-hand toolbar pane in Acrobat Pro 2017, Is that correct?
To customize the pre-designed behavior in Acrobat 2017 is not possible. You cannot customize the toolbar to only small symbols. However, you can hide the righthand toolbar or can remove/add the tools in the toolbar.
You can refer to the following KB articles to customize the toolbar Tools Customization (DC)
Adobe Acrobat Workspace basics

Sorry, you can't drag to resize. I think you could once. Just click the triangle to make the tools panel go away or come back.
