I'm an IT consultant, assisting a client with moving programs from her old Windows 7 computer onto a new Windows 10 laptop. One of which is an old program, Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. I've got the license key for this, but cannot deactivate it on the old computer despite it having a solid internet connection. Nor can I activate it on the new laptop, as it requires the old license to be deactivated.
Would there be some method of deactivating the license? As I imagine uninstalling the program may not necessarily ensure it's actually deactivated. It's rather frustrating being unable to call directly into Adobe to get assistance on this issue, as I'm sure it'd be a 5-8 minute call at the most, rather than potentially spending a day to week plus trying to get assistance in a forum.
Sincerely,
Josh
if you're seeing an excess activation count error when trying to install on a new computer, using a browser that allows popups and cookies, contact adobe support during pst business hours by clicking here and, when available, click 'still need help', https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and request an 'activation count reset'.
ask for nothing else or you'll not be helped.

It was certainly quicker than I'd expected to getting my clients license count reset. Thanks for your assistance!
Sincerely,
Josh
