Have received a PDF from an outside agency. All the type appears on the screen but one line (only) disappears when send to the copier or printer. Have received the same file in an EPS to no avail. Have saved to JPEG to no avail. Any suggestions on how to "nail down" this type and prevent this error?

Check to see if the offending line is set to overprint by the designer. This applies to any white type/elements or lighter elements that might get 'lost' in the background color when overprinted.
