I tried opening a shared file .pdf in the IE browser providing the shared path url. I able to just see a blank screen with 1/1 shown on the right hand side.

Based on the below article what should be the latest version of Adobe reader DC should have to display this file.

Any futher support would be helpful.

I would say that you can never go wrong with the latest version : Adobe Reader DC.

But if you have an older version maybe repairing the installation and manually re-applying the latest planned update for that version could improve something (or not).

However, looking at the tech note included in the link that you shared there are some considerations in regard of Internet Explorer 11. My first question would be in which operating system is this happening?

In a MS Windows 10 environment, for example,   Acrobat integrates with Internet Explorer 11 which  also  integrates with Windows Explorer. According to Micrososft support guidance they recommend that depending on what you're doing you should switch to MS Edge and vice versa(to IE11).

Have you tried doing the same with Edge? Do you get get the same result if you try using this other browser instead?

See these additional notes from Micrososft support:
