Any insertation or change to an image in PDF results in "Unknown error" message. I read about a workaround in 2020 where you print as PDF, but that is not resolving the issue, nor are changes to compatibility settings. Has anyone found a recent solution?

Hi Jennifer,
Hope you are doing well.
Would you mind confirming the exact version of Adobe Acrobat and OS you have been working with?
A follow-up update to Acrobat and Reader DC Feb 2021 release for Windows & Mac 21.001.20142 Optional update, Feb 25, 2021, is available which addresses some important issues. Let us know if that helps with this one.
Navigate to Acrobat>help>check for update
Or install the latest patch directly from here: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html
If this doesn't help then, Navigate to Adobe Acrobat>Preferences(Mac) Or Edit>Preferences (Win)>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected View" and "Enhanced Security">OK>close and reopen Acrobat.
Note: these changes are only for testing purpose. Once tested, please change it back to the previous setting.
Thanks,
Akanchha

Hi Akanchha,
The latest optional update did not solve our issue. We are on 2021.001.20142 on Windows 10 Enterprise.

We are also 64-bit - would that make a difference?

Hi Jennifer,
hi Akanchha,
we have exact the same problem with fresh installed Adobe Acrobat Standard Version 21.001.20145.
Which I found out that inserting only doesn't work for images stored on a network drive. If I copy and paste the files locally, I will not receive a warning or error message.
How can the bug be fixed?
Kind regards
Mario

Mario - we found the same workaround you did, but no official word from Adobe on how to fix the actual bug.

Hi Jennifer,
today i got remote session with adobe support.
The following solution worked for me:
1. Start a Repair within the Adobe Acrobat (you can find the repair function in the menu)
2. After that, close the program and delete the following registry entry: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat\DC
Be carefuul with registry and make backup before deleting something.

Thank you for sharing. This solution did not work for us. Would it be possible for Adobe to set-up a remote session with us?
