Hello,

I am not experienced with fillable PDF's and I have 2 ideas for improvements to using excel but I don't know if they are possible;

Idea 1

I have an excel spreadsheet of data consisting of a large number of columns so I have another spreadsheet formatted to look like a A4 form. When the unique criteria is entered into the form, the rest of the form is populated with data from the spreadsheet.

Can a fillable PDF be used to present data in the same way?

Idea 2

Can another copy of the fillable PDF above be used export a set a data to the spreadsheet?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Carl

The answer it Yes, sort of, and it requires programming. PDF forms cannot be connected directly to Excel files. The spreadsheet needs to be save as a CSV or Tab delimited file. Then a script in the PDF can use entered data to select data in the CSV.
