In the blue box when opening a PDF what do these messages mean and what is the diffence between them?  Both have green checks.

'Signed and signatures are valid.  Please fill out the following form.'

'Signed and signatures are valid.  Document was updated after signing.  Open signature panel to view the document change history.  Please fill out the form.'

Your documents includes a digital signature.  The version history of the document's changes/state is marked with each person's digital signature.  This is all contained in the Signature Panel on the left edge of Acrobat/Reader.

If you don't see this panel available at first, you can view it by right-clicking in that area's icon list and checking the Signatures Panel.  this will reveal the panel.

I hope this info is helpful.

I wish I could provide a picture but I can't seem to be able to. What I'm seeing in the signature panel is a green check beside the first signature, below that signature I see Form Fields Filled in with a + next to it, then another signature with a green tick, then Form Fields Filled In, then another signature with a green tick. I only see 'Document was updated after signing' in the blue bar when Form Fields Filled In is in the signature panel. Can you help me understand what that means?

The reason I’m asking is when a digital signature field is added (Prepare Form – Digital signature – add the box) the properties on the signed tab field default to ‘Nothing Happens when signed’. However, I understand that only limited changes are allowed when signing a document, at most additional signatures, so the properties on the signed tab field need to be changed to Mark As Read only (except another digital signature, if required). Is this a bad set up on Adobe’s part? Is that why I’m so confused when I now know a document can’t be changed after the first digital signature is applied? If you can help me understand that you will be my best friend for life!
