What is "Adobe Mac PDF Plug-In"?

I'm trying to troubleshoot some PDFs that are causing a problem for my client. I need to figure out what application made them and how.

The PDF Producer on all the problematic PDFs is "Adobe Mac PDF Plug-In" with a version of PDF 1.6. I've searched Google and the forums here, but I'm not finding a reference to "Adobe Mac PDF Plug-In".

What is "Adobe Mac PDF Plug-In"? What is it a plug-in to? Like I said, I need to track down exactly how, and what, made these PDFs.

Figured it out. "Adobe Mac PDF Plug-In" is used when using a Print dialog and choosing Save As Adobe PDF on macOS.
