So...I looked online to see if I could find something, but havnt. My question is: When extracting pages, is there a setting to stay on original file rather than switching to the newly extracted pages?
Thanks!

Hi,
When you open the Organize Pages Tool, and then click on "Extract" from the toolbar, another toolbar will open underneath it.
Tick the box that says " Extract Pages as separate files" then click Extract.
When you click extraxt it will open additional dialogue boxes for you to choose in which folder you want the extracted page to be saved into.
After that click "Close" and you will be return to the active tab of the page that you were working on.

I think they know how to do it. They're asking if it's possible to do it "in the background", without automatically switcing to the extracted files after they are created. I think the answer to do that is No.

That is correct. I was referring to when I highlight the page thumbnails on the left, choose to extract them, and the tab switches to that tab. You answered my question in that it isn't possible doing it that way. Thank you!

I am sorry, your initial thread was not mentioning anything about highlighting thumbnails.
That is why I emphasized on ticking the box that says "Extract pages as separate files". And that is the setting you nees to check before commiting to the page extracting action.
Unless my Accrobat is betyer than yours I don't know why this method is not working for you. All you hsve to do is click close after the extraction, your extracted page saved to the folder you selected, and you will be brought back to the original active tab that you were working on.
If you don't check that box, the extracted page will open up in a new active tab.

If you use the thumbnail method by right-clicking and selecting Extract Pages from the context menu, you have to check thr box " Extract Pages as Separate Files" then click Ok .
You will remain in your original working space of the document you're working on
