Hi,
There used to be a setting when you save a file that lets you set the minimum version of Reader that is required to view the file.
In Acrobat Pro DC (2015 Classic) I see a an option under Save As > Optimized PDF > "Make Compatible With", then I choose the Reader version.
If I do not save a file as an Optimized PDF - how do I know which minimum version of Reader can open this PDF file?
Is there a chart somewhere? I can't find anything........
Thank you!
Acrobat Reader 7 to view PDFs
Acrobat Reader XI (11) to be able to save filled PDF forms.

When you use the plain Save as option, the file is saved with the same PDF version (there isn't an Acrobat version) that the file currently has. That mode of operation has not changed!
Note that you can see what the current PDF version of the file is by invoking Document Properties (Ctrl-D).

Thanks for your quick reply! But, what I am asking is this:
If I create a PDF using Acrobat Pro DC (2015 Classic) what is the minimum version of READER needed for the clients to view this file? Adobe Reader 5? 9? etc.....
