Why does Acrobat DC Pro break up a paragraph into little chunks?

New Here ,

When I edit a piece of text in a PDF, that text is often (not always) broken up into little bits of text. Here is an image of what it looks like.

Any idea why this happens? It feels like the worst virus ever has infected my computer.

Because PDF files are not Word files and Acrobat is not a word processing application. These files were never meant to be edited in this way, and Acrobat is doing its best to interpret the structure of the PDF and convert the various text streams in it to manageable chunks of text. Sometimes it works better than other times... If you don't have the original file used to create the PDF you just have to make do with the results.

what do u mean by "original" file e.g. i just made a pdf by scanning it with acrobat DC intp a "normal"  pdf, and i tried to follow all acrobat DC export instructions into word and i could not make changes without running into text problems--especially when there was a small list such as a  number followed by an indent of an {a} and a (b)

Also, WAIT  UNE PETIT  MOVEMENT! acrobat DC ALREADY OPENS IN MY WORD 2010 DURING THE SO -CALLED NEW WONDERFUL ACROBAT DC CONVERSION/ PROCESSING INTO FORMATTING ITS OWN PDF CREATION IN ACROBAT PDF INTO WORD. –I.E., MY WORD 2010 OPENS I.E THE PDF DOC IS NOW IN WORD EVERYTHING APPEARS NICE BUT WHY DOES IT DOES NOT PERMIT RELIABLE TEXTING CHANGES AND ADDITIONS IN WORD – IF AT ALL. THEREFORE, WHAT IT IS ITS POINT [I CHANGE A PDF INTO WORD TO MAKE TEXT CHANGES AND ALLOW OTHERS TO MAKE CHANGES TO WORD DOCUMENTBUT I CAN DO WITH RELIABILITY

THIS WOULD BE A TREMENDOUS CREATION -IF IT WORKED FULLY AND EASILY BUT  IT DOES NOT. THUS MAKING A DISSEMBLER OUT OF ME AND ACROBAT DC TO WHOSE  BENEFITS I HAD PRAISED TO THE SKIE TO OTHERS . Acrobat, YOU are almost there FINISH the job! It would be worth a lot to U and to Tyor currentand potential consumers
