How do you do simple things that you can while using the app on a phone, such as highlighting, underlining, etc.?

First, install Acrobat or Acrobat reader (you can do more formatting with Acrobat, but the program costs money).  Then, in Acrobat.com, open the document you want to work with, and click the download button in the menu (upper right).  Save it to your desktop.  Once you've downloaded the file to your desktop, open it in the desktop Acrobat or Reader, and do whatever highlighting and formatting you want.  Save the document to your desktop in the usual way.

Then, to get your edited document back into Acrobat.com, go to the same folder in Acrobat.com that the origingal file resides in and click the upload button (the cloud button).  You will be given the option of deleting the uploaded file, deleting the original file, or keeping the uploaded file but giving it a different name.   Choose to delete the oringinal file.  Your original file will now be replaced with the file containing your highlighting.  So when you next open that file in Acrobat.com, the version with the highlighting and formatting will be what you see.

Yes, this is way more awkward than it should be, particularly since you can do all of this in the iphone/ipad app without this downloading and uploading nonsense.  Hopefully Adobe will hear our cries and help us.  But at least there is a workaround.

I hope this helps.

JB

Be careful out there....
