I can only download my bank statements in pdf format.
I want to convert the data to excel.
I just purchased the conversion upgrade to Acrobat Reader.
I have the latest version installed (15,017,20050)
The conversion process appears to work, but the downloaded excel file has missed converting at least one page of the pdf.
Fixes I have tried:
I went to the Adobe cloud website and ran the conversion from there - same bad result.
I reinstalled Acrobat Reader DC latest version - again same bad results
I converted to a Word doc - but result seems to be pages of pictures - not converted to text
Tech support - please help.
Or if you cant I will want a refund.

Converting from PDF to Word, Excel or any other format is one of the most complex things you can try to do with a PDF file. It works very well in some cases, in other cases the output has very little to do with the original file. The key for success is that the PDF file needs to be "tagged" - which means that it contains information about the information that is displayed in the file. The best way to make sure that a PDF file is tagged correctly is by using the PDFMaker in Acrobat to create the

Well its is the forum for Acrobat Reader
I am using Acrobat reader DC which may be free but I had to pay for the conversion product:
Adobe Export PDF, Annual
I cant find a forum for that - can you give me the link?
I have also lodged the issue as a tech support question.

Unfortunately there is not much you can do to improve the output without spending a lot of time (e.g. by manually tagging the file). Also, if you are using Adobe's ExportPDF service and don't have access to Acrobat, that is not even an option.
You will have to get in touch with Adobe's support via this link: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html (don't use any of the "Forum" options, otherwise you will end up here again) They are also the only ones who can help with your refund request.

Thanks Karl,
I have some idea of the technical difficulty involved. I don't envy the support people.
The pdf s I want to convert are generated by my bank and so changing them in any way is not an option for me.
I suspect you are right about a missing tag being the problem - the conversion worked fine up to the end of page 2, then converted two pages to two blank excel rows, then did the last page fine.
I have already lodged a support request with a copy of the pdf that won't convert fully.
Thanks again.

I am having the same problem with a bank statement, but mine converts completely; but the result is not in English. It may be in "machine language" or a foreign translation. Does anyone have a solution?

Are you sure that yours is the same problem? Could it be that the file contains fonts that were not properly embedded and are not in your system?

System - Mad OS 10.7.5 with Office for Mac 2011
I was attempting to convert a .pdf generated by my bank into excel using the Adobe online converter. The results came back with garbled text and good columns.
I made improvements by opening the .pdf from the bank and then using the print save as .pdf. I have some work to do but at least I have readable text.
