There have been other posts wherein community members reported that Adobe unilaterally decided for everyone that instead of sending files as attachments, they would steal our PDF content, upload it to their cloud storage, and then send our trading partners a link instead of just attaching the file to an Outlook email as it has done in the past.
Previously, this was resolved with changing Preferences > Email Accounts > (uncheck) Always send files as a link (which no one ever checked... Adobe changed that setting for you)
Later, another Adobe change was in Preferences > Reviewing > Share for review using Adobe's cloud storage (another thing I suspect almost no one asked for or wanted)
Now, the "Send" option at the top right of the UI has changed to "Share" and again uploads my document to Adobe cloud storage, creates an Outlook email, and puts a link to the cloud storage file. I don't know why Adobe thinks this is okay. Someone should literally be fired for this decision.
I haven't found a solution yet other than to not use the native sending features and to manually attach files henceforth. Does anyone have a solution that would easily allow for sending attachments from Acrobat under this new paradigm?

Hi anthWS,
Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.
Please share the screen recording of the option you mentioned. Share the Acrobat and OS version on the machine.
Did the options change after a recent update?
Thanks,
Meenakshi

I found how to get it "right"... for anyone else who runs into this, please see this screenshot... Important to use the very subtle link at the right instead of the tempting Outlook icon on the left.

I don't know why that would help but it certainly couldn't hurt.

This is so annoying, now i have to type the filename into the subject line on every file, its tedious

I type a subject, not the filename. The filename is rarely the subject.

This was the work around, but there has been another update. The SHARE option is no longer available and neither are any of the shortcut buttons, this is what it looks like now and there is absolutely no option to send as an attachment. I don't want every single document on the adobe cloud!! This is so incredibly frustrating that Adobe just assumes everyone wants to work off their cloud wich btw is not user friendly what so ever!! Pleaes I beg of you to create a work around to attach files to an email other than saving it, closing it, starting a new email, then finding the file to attach.

I can't tell you why yours is different from mine but I still have the Share option with the send as attachment (or link) as shown in my screenshot above (from February of 2024). Are you sure that's Acrobat and not Reader? or what version do you have installed? Here's mine:

I am now getting this too. It has added another step to what should be a simple task. You need to choose one of the options before it goes to the familiar screen with the email icon.

Hi jessica_9877, anthWS and Morena368111826e0q,
Please try updating to the latest version. In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help > Check for updates. For more information on updates, refer to the following help document: https://adobe.ly/3GlvgaL.
See if you still get the same options under the Share button. Share the screenshot of the version number and the options you see.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Meenakshi
