Adobe Acrobat Pro XI crashes every time I try to open it on Mac OSX 10.9.3

I recently downloaded the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and installed it on my Mac running OSX 10.9.3

Every time I try to open the application, it tries to open the application and then gives me an error of "Acrobat quit unexpectedly" with a long trail of code.

I do not know what to do to get this application working properly.

PLEASE HELP

Hi formulogix,

Check for the latest updates. Installing latest updates should resolve this problem.

Also, try to ran disk repair using safe mode in Mac, for instructions please visit: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14204

Hello Aijlan,

I already have all the updates on Mac. It is completely up to date. I have also tried the alternative method of disk repair in safe mode. Nothing has changed. It still keeps crashing upon opening. If this is the case then please suggest an alternative fix or cancel my subscription as I cannot use the software like this.

Hi Sam,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

Please, try enable root use profile on mac and try to check. OS X Mavericks: Enable and disable the root user

Also, share you work flow when Acrobat crashes. I tried to test again at my end on mavericks 10.9.3 and it works fine at my end.

Ajlan,

I just wanted to let you know that after I did the repair disk from safe mode, now none of my programs are working. Any application that I open says "quit unexpectedly". Do u have any idea what went wrong now because I didn't have any of these problems before acrobat was installed.

Now my system is non functional?

Hi Sam,

Doing repair disc permissions, normally should not create problems, reason being this is Apple's own built-in utility.

I am guessing there might have been permission issues already on your computer and repair disk permission tried to resolve that problem. But if the problem is severe these things may happen.

I would suggest you first you may try it again if that didn't resolve you should contact Apple support. They may help to repair the permissions.

Ajlan,

I had ro reinstall the entire Mac OS to fix the situation, however, not everything is back to normal except for Acrobat. I am not sure what needs to be done now. Please see the attached screen shot of the error message that I am getting.

I am unable to see the screenshot.

Are you still facing issues while installing Acrobat?

Ajlan,

I deleted the acrobat and downloaded it again and it is now working. Thanks for the follow up. I will let you know if there is anything else that is required.
