clear total black scree on adobe Reader

When I open Adobe Reader to read pdf all I get is a black screen.  How do I change this?

Hi Dakini,

Does the Reader screen go black when you open the application, or when you open the PDF file? For starters, please make sure that you have the most current version of Reader by choosing Help > Check for Updates in Reader (if you're able to access that menu).

If the problem is specific to that one PDF, if could be that the PDF is damaged, or that the Reader Preferences aren't set to "Show Large Images." You can check that by choosing File > Preferences (Windows) or Reader > Preferences (Mac OS), and clicking Page Display. That particular setting appears about half-way down the dialog box.
