convert PDF to excel + retain format or alignment

how to convert from PDF to excel without losing column alignment?  Some rows are fine, but others skip columns and mis-align with the rest of the schedule.  In some rows the entire last column was skipped for 40 rows but dumped into the following 40 rows as a single first column.
