converting to Excel why will not format to landscape when original is landscape formatted

Is the lack of this feature problematic for others? How resolved?

I'm sorry to hear that your files aren't converting as you expect. How were the PDF files created? It sounds as though they may have been generated by a third-party app (a non-Adobe app), and they don't contain the tagging information necessary to convert the file in the format as the original Excel file.
