I want to know if Acrobat Pro is different from XI. I want to scan and convert image to readable pdf.
but want a desktop version and not cloud storage.

Hi svittala,
The current version of Acrobat Pro is XI, so they are one and the same. Acrobat Pro runs on the desktop, but can be purchased as either a subscription where you pay monthly or as a perpetual license, where you buy it outright. Whichever way you choose to pay, you get the same software. See Pricing | Adobe Acrobat XI
If you're wanting to scan to PDF, then Acrobat (versus the Acrobat.com online services) is the way to go.
Best,
Sara
