In the Acrobat desktop application, you can unmark the option "Show comments pane when a PDF with comments is opened" in the comment preferences. In Acrobat, go to Menu > Preferences > Commenting. Once unmarked the option, click the OK button to save the changes. You may refer to the comment preferences in the following help document: https://adobe.ly/40HwTaR

 

In Acrobat Online, click the Profile icon and select Settings. Scroll down to comments and check the box for "Hide comments preview."  Click on the Save button to save the changes.
