Hi grandmalib,

If you use either Acrobat or ExportPDF to convert a PDF file to Word, it automatically performs optical character recognition (OCR) on the PDF file to convert scanned text to editable text. All you need to do is make sure that the correct language is selected for text recognition (in ExportPDF, look at the Document Language for Text Recognition pop-up menu).

In Acrobat, you can save a PDF file in Word format by choosing File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document. Click Settings to change the language selected for text recognition.

Best,

Sara

My view on this - though Adobe might disagree - is that if your aim is to get a scan as editable text in Word, it's a terrible mistake to involve PDF, just because there seems to be a way. Look for a solution that goes straight to Word. Adobe don't have one.
