I do have a subscription for several years now on Adode PDF Export to convert PDF's to Word. Till recently I could export the PDF's and converted them but now the menu bar doesn't respond at all. Only the upper and lower indicators (behind the line) do change. What has happened?

As per the description above, you are not able to Export a PDF file into Word, Is that correct?
The record shows you have an active subscription to Adobe Export PDF, (Annual) on the Adobe Id used to login on Forums.
Please try to export the PDF online, log into your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf with your Adobe ID and password. Using Adobe Export PDF
If you are not using the free desktop version of Adobe Reader to export PDF, you can download the free Adobe Reader DC to use the service, Download Reader DC: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution Link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
