How does this work?

Community Beginner ,
Nov 17, 2012 Nov 17, 2012

I get a page that says Ask a Question. I fill in my question and hit Enter. Then I'm taken here to a blank Start a New Discussion page. My question is not in the topic line so was my question asked or not? I think if I had to add more to the question, the question would show up in the subject line.

So is this new discussion for asking a second question? Or is it somehow related to the original question but it doesn't include it? Very confused about how this is supposed to work.

Hi there,

Sorry for the confusion with our question-asking function.  If you're logged in already and you start to type a question in the 'Ask a question' dialog box, you're question will be posted within that forum.  If you're not logged in, after you try to submit the question, you'll be prompted to log in.  In many cases, this will cause your previously typed out question to disappear.  We're working on improving this forum usage experience as we know it's less-than-ideal.
