how to password protect a pdf?

Hi Sandrap,

As you are willing to change the document's security, so make sure that the security settings of the document you are working on does allow you to make the changes with it.

Open document> right click "Document properties"> Security> Check whether you are have permission to make changes to the document or not?

If yes, then you can make it password protected using Acrobat DC- Securing PDFS with passwords, Adobe Acrobat

Hi Sandra,

The method of securing the PDF with password in Acrobat DC is same as its works on windows computer. The only change would be the location of "Preferences" would be under Acrobat DC written at upper right hand corner.

Acrobat / Adobe Acrobat Reader > Preferences (Mac OS) and then follow the same instructions given in- Securing PDFS with passwords, Adobe Acrobat
