How do I tell if I have already paid for a membership? When I try to convert a pdf file to word, it looks like it is processing the task, but then I can't find the converted file when it says view converted file. Huh? Adobe is on my mac dashboard, I have had an account but can't see the results . . . thanks.

Hi subscription question,
I've checked your account; it looks like you tried to place two separate orders this morning, but it doesn't appear that either went through. However, it does sound as though you've been able to convert a file successfully. What happens when you log in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/files? Do you see your converted file there? All converted files are automatically stored in your online account, even when you convert from within Reader.
Best,
Sara

Sara, thanks for your help . . . there was not a file there . . . Can you answer the question of whether I have already paid for aservice? Why else would acrobat be on my dashboard? the notation which says Paid Service makes it unclear if i have to pay, or I did pay. Crazy. Let me know if you can tell what I mean. Thanks. jess

It looks like neither attempt to subscribe was processed. I think you may want to Contact Customer Care to find out why. That said, you can have Adobe Reader installed on Mac OS (it's free), which I think is the case for you. The ExportPDF online service, which you can access from Reader, is a paid service.

Sara, before you take off . . . it looks like Adobe IS installed . . . that's why I was confused about why I couldn't convert the file. I'm not sure how contacting customer service works because there really isn't any . . . I mean you answered, that's great. What else is there?

Reader won't let you convert files without a subscription (but Acrobat will). If you look at the title bar of your "Adobe," does it say Reader or Acrobat? If it says Reader, you would need a subscription to convert files. (And there's still the matter of the two unprocessed subscription orders, which is what I thought Customer Care could help you straighten out.)
So many options when it comes to Adobe and Acrobat! It can be hard to keep things straight.
Best,
Sara
