Apparently, I don't pay enough to get customer support..so I am now late with a report for a product that I pay for.. great . I keep getting a conversion failure from PDF to Word. I have rebooted and used the repair feature.., now what?

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, you are getting a conversion failure error while converting a PDF to Word, is that correct?
The record shows that you are subscribed to Adobe PDFPack services on your current Adobe ID, try converting the PDF through the URL https://cloud.acrobat.com/combinepdf on a different browser like Chrome, or Firefox, or Safari and see if this brings any difference.
If you are using freeware Adobe Reader DC and facing the issue, please sign out and sign back in Adobe Reader using your current Adobe ID, check for any pending updates and install them and reboot the machine and then try converting the PDF.

Is it specific to one PDF file or with all the PDF files? Have you tried with another PDF file?
If it is specific to one PDF file, Is it possible to share the PDF file with us? To share the file, please use Adobe Send feature, upload the file, share the link to files via private message only, How Do I Send Private Message
