Specifically I am subscribed to Acrobat Pro Standard. When I open it it is on the web. Previously I have gotten messages saying that my subscription has expired, but it hasn't.

Hi Sharon,

I totally understand your frustration. Yes, it's quite likely that you never downloaded Acrobat Pro (there is Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Standard--you have Pro).

You can download from this page: Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X.

Because you have a subscription, no serial number is required. You just need to be logged in to your account with your Adobe ID and password.

Best,

Sara

Hi sharond,

I've checked your account to make sure that all is well there, and it is. Your Acrobat Pro subscription is active.

You can download it from here:  https://cloud.acrobat.com/acrobat.

Acrobat doesn't open via the web (it runs on your desktop). So, it sounds like PDF files are opening in your browser via Adobe Reader. If that's the case, you can set Acrobat as the default application to open PDF files after it's installed by following the instructions in this post: how do i make adobe professional the default to open all pdf's instead of reader (Adobe Reader)

Please let us know how it goes.

Best,

Sara

Sara, I appreciate your response and am glad to know this is not a web-based program. That said, I don't believe I have ever had Adobe Acrobat Pro Standard ever downloaded to my computer. When I go to the Control Panel, it is not listed.  What I see in my list of programs for "Adobe" is Adobe Reader XI (v. 11.0.10) and some other products like Creatuve Cloud, AIR, Flash Player, and Photoshop.  Is it possible that I purchased the product but managed not to download the program onto my computer?  And if that is the case, how would I go about doing it?  I appreciate your help with this -- very frustrating to me.
