Issues with PDF's In SharePoint Online

Good Morning - We are in the middle of a migration to SharePoint Online. Some of the PDFs we are migrating are not functioning correctly. These PDFs contain buttons to do things like resetting the form, emailing the form, and printing the form.

When users attempt to open these they are getting the following error...

We added (not fully licensed) Adobe Acrobat for Sharepoint and One Drive installed to our o365 tenant. and the issue still persists.

These PDF's seem to be XFA? I'm not sure on that but I cannot edit them with my full license of Adobe Acrobat on my local machine.

Looking for any assistance on...

- can these XFA pdfs be used in SharePoint Online? Or should they me changed or updated?

- do we need a fully licensed version of an Adobe product in our tenant for this to work?

- Or is this type of functionality not supported in SPOL?

any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you

Hi Justin29050929cyey,

Thank you for reaching out.

The message appears when you try to open the XFA PDFs online. These PDFs can open on desktop applications only.

Please refer to the information provided on the following help page: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/pdf-won-t-display-please-wait/td-p/4788543

The document can be opened on the free Acrobat Reader version. However, if you wish to work on these documents, it depends on what work you will do.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
