Large font size comments in PDF Review

Explorer ,
Sep 16, 2014 Sep 16, 2014

We constantly do our reviews/proofing through the PDF shared review function. I generally get the comments and then I print off a comment summary. One particular user seems to have a very funky setting somewhere since his comments print at a 102 point font. I haven't been able to do anything to get this font size smaller. We looked at his preferences and everything is normal, standard, as is mine. You can see what a "regular" comment looks like in the graphic. It is super annoying because his comments can take up to 10 pages sometimes when I print out a summary. Grr...

Anyone know what could be causing this??

Hi BeckieBea,

This is an issue that was reported a while back after the Acrobat 11.0.07 update. For this particular user, I would check to see what version he or she is running, and have him or her choose Help > Check for Updates to install the latest update.

Best,

Sara

Hi, I have the same problem and I'm running version 11.0.08 does anyone know if this just a "glitch" with the latest version?  Could REALLY do with it getting sorted as it's a major pain in my working day now!

Solution I used:

1.  Make a new comment

2.  Copy text from offending original comment box

3.  Paste text from original comments into Notepad (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Notepad)

4.   Select all text in Notepad and change font to Arial/Regular/9pt

5.  Copy text from Notepad

6.  Past text into new comment

7.  Delete old comment.

When I have encountered this issue, it seems to be related to the copy/pasting of text from another program into Adobe as I cannot remember ever having this issue with text I have typed directly into Adobe.  That said, this solution may also work if you are experiencing issues with text you type into Adobe (no guarantees).

Good Luck!

LATEST

I was only able to read this now, since we encountered it just today Thursday February 7, 2019.

What I did was:

  1. Select the text inside the comment box.
  2. Right click then select Text Style from the pull down menu.
  3. Then Clear Formatting.

I hope this helps. The only problem with this is when there are a lot of comments that needs to be cleared of Text Styles.
