To sign up mentions a "annual commitment," what exactly does that mean? An I billed in one large up-front installment, or as it seems, or billed 'monthly.' Thank you.

Hi charliemanning,
I saw another post from you regarding the same question, but just in case you missed my response there, I'll answer here as well.
With the Acrobat Pro subscription, you are billed monthly.
Best,
Sara

Yes, sorry about that. Rewrote to make clearer. Think I took the 'wrong
route,' to do that, again...sorry. Thank you so much!

Was still wondering why under the sign up page it mentions "annual
commitment?" Does not really make any business sense. Maybe I am just
digging to deep.
Thanks again...Charlie

Hi Charlie,
The Acrobat Pro subscription is a bit different from the online services with are billed up front for the year at a much lower rate than Acrobat Pro. I think the monthly billing makes the Acrobat Pro subscription more affordable for some folks...
I hope that helps.
Best,
Sara

Dear Sara,
Yes, you are so correct! Monthly billing really helps when you work, but
also are a full-time student. $ is *always *tight. Thank you so much for
your kindness, have a super week!

Dear Sara,
Quick ? I am working with a publisher whom I am sending my business based
book's back and forth as I make editing changes. It is currently in PDF
form. I can *only *make changes by adding a "sticky note" etc. He wants
me to convert it to WORD, and make my 'own' changes.
*However...the problem is when I do that - all the 'white space, lines etc'
"jump" all OVER the place.*
If I go ahead and buy Adobe Pro, will I be able to swing over my current
PDF book files to my OWN PDF file and then...make my *own *changes
without everything 'jumping' everywhere? My two books total over 800 pages
and I have already sent hundreds of man-hours working on them, so quality
of 'layout' is extremely important.
Thank you! Charlie

Hi Charlie,
Acrobat will let you edit the text in the PDF (but keep in mind it's not meant to be a text editor, so you won't have the same type of functionality you would have in an app like Word). Small changes should be fine--but it's just not meant for doing large chunks of editing.
That said, you also have the option to Save As to Word format directly from Acrobat--so you can avoid some of the conversion issues you might run into with ExportPDF (what you describe can be caused for having fonts in the PDF that aren't available to the ExportPDF service).
Not trying to sell you anything, but for what you're doing and the size of your file, I think you'll be happiest with Acrobat. You could always download a free 30-day trial and see how it works for you!
Cheers,
Sara

Sara...thank you!!!! Appreciate your time to fully answer my question.
Yes, I am pretty much at the point now the most (or all) of the editing is
fairly or even quite small. Thank you for the Sale's Pitch...it was
perfect!
In summary: when I buy Adobe Pro, I can simply 'transfer over' my...*current
'locked' editors file...*and then open my OWN PDF file with
everything..."still where it should be," and go to work! Yes?
Again, a huge thank you! [?]
Charlie
P.S.: Could you tell me please...why...cannot my editor "just" cannot
send to me a "editable" PDF file. Why does it have to be 'locked?' Is it
a control thing on their end? Seems kinda strange.

Hi again!
Ah, I see. You think the PDF is password protected? That doesn't sound like it's the case to me, as you are able to convert the PDF to Word (although not with the expected results). ExportPDF doesn't allow you to convert password-protected files to Word, so it sounds like you're OK there.
If you're opening the file in Adobe Reader, you wouldn't be able to edit it there (you can only comment on a PDF, and not change the actual content). So, from this end it sounds to me like it's not so much as issue of the file being protected, but that you just don't have the software you need to edit it.
I'm still going to encourage that you try before you buy! Go ahead and download the 30-day trial of Acrobat-- you don't have to buy if it doesn't suit your needs. You just won't be able to access the software when the 30 days are up unless you decide to buy or subscribe.
Best,
Sara
